West Vail: A Wonderful Vail Valley Community

With the exception of a gas station, this location is primarily made up of homes and condominiums.  Depending where you are situated, you will find homes along Gore Creek adjacent to the mountain or anywhere in between.  Your eyes will be entertained by the myriad of architectural styles in this area.

West Vail South and Intermountain

The westernmost section of this area is called Intermountain.  Traveling west on the South Frontage Road all the way to the end, you will find this fabulous community-oriented neighborhood.  The first part of Intermountain is open and spacious with many different condominiums and townhomes.  The Intermountain homes tend to nestle up against the mountainside.

With the tall trees that line Gore Creek, the West Vail South/Intermountain area gives a nice sense of being in the mountains.  It is also a very short distance to the ski slopes.

The neighborhood thins out as it stretches further west.  Some of these homes are right on Gore Creek and you can practically fish from your deck or backyard.

Getting Here and Getting Around

If you are driving from Denver heading west to the Vail Valley, West Vail South will be your third and last exit off I-70 in the Town of Vail.  Once you exit, you will drive south under I-70 towards Vail Mountain and you will be in this area, hence its name.

As for getting around town, the bus runs to Kinnikinnick Road and is a popular place for renters and homeowners.  Many properties in West Vail are easily accessible by bus, but others will require a vehicle.  Contact us and we can provide you with a list of homes for sale in your preferred location.

Kayaking and Fishing on the Creek

During the summer, you can see rafters and kayakers float down Gore Creek.  In May and June, the waters are at their highest level, and it may then seem as though rafters are flying down the Creek!  The Gold Medal Gore Creek is an ideal place for fly fishing.
