4 Eagle Ranch – Summer Activities

Western Family Nights – Put on your dancin’ shoes and bring your appetite to the 4 Eagle Ranch for an unforgettable evening of fun in the Wild West.  Just about every Wednesday through July and August Nelson’s Cabins doors are opened to the public from 5-9 pm.  There are cattle roping, horseshoes, volleyball, wagon, pony, and trail rides, buffet style dinner, campfire, music, and dancing.

Guided Horseback Rides – Whether you are a seasoned expert or an enthusiastic beginner the 4 Eagle Ranch has an adventure waiting for you.  All rides start off with a little safety information and advice to make your journey a safe and enjoyable one.  They offer one to three hour rides for beginning to intermediate riders, and a two hour advanced ride for the more experienced.  They also offer group pony rides for the little buckaroos in your family.  All the guides are knowledgeable in local history and geography to insure your adventure is informative and exciting.

Saddles and Paddles – Every summer the 4 Eagle Ranch teams up with Lakota Guides to offer you a really unique experience.  In the morning you get to enjoy unspoiled views of the Sawatch Mountains, Castle Peak, and Red and White Mountain.  Head back to the cabin for a hearty and healthy lunch, and in the afternoon go white water rafting on the lower Eagle River or the Colorado River depending on the month.  Intermediate skills are recommended for white water rafting on either river.

Cattle Round Up – If you always wanted a taste of the daily life of a ranch hand, but can’t afford to leave your day job you can partake in your very own cattle round up at the 4 Eagle Ranch.  For adults and kids over the age of 12 a mere $100 can get an informative talk (called “cattle 101”), 2.5 hours of riding with spectacular views, and ranch hand experience you will not soon forget.

Horse Drawn Hay Wagon Rides – Everyday except Sunday from 12:30-2:00 you and your family can take a 30 minute wagon ride on an old stagecoach road.  You will be carted across meadows and hills by gorgeous Belgian Draft Horses simply enjoying the beauty of Colorado.

Daily Lunches at the “4 Eagle Grill” – Some of the best homemade food for some of the best prices around!  A yummy and affordable lunch is either available as part of your carriage or horseback adventure, but can also be enjoyed by anyone from anywhere.

Tom’s Tent – The newest addition to the expansive 4 Eagle Ranch is Tom’s Tent which can either be reserved for an exclusive camping experience or a small private event.  The tent is available in winter and summer and allows for Colorado camping at its finest.  There are several amenities on site that will allow any camper to enjoy a trip to the country.  The cost is $350/night for up to 4 people and $50/person for the fifth and sixth guest.  Comfort is key when it comes to enjoying this spectacular 4 Eagle accommodation.
