Ideally situated on the south side of Edwards is the popular community of Homestead. People love living here because of the beautiful views, nearby restaurants and shops, diversity of properties and the very active Homestead Court Club.

It is amazing to think how quickly an area can change in both community perception and living environment. Just 20 years ago, Homestead seemed like a far away place in relation to Vail. You couldn’t even find a single stop light! Now it is a thriving community that is the center of the Vail Valley!

Whether you enjoy walking with your children and dogs along the paved pathways, or walking through trails scattered around Homestead, or hiking by the water tower, there is plenty of outside activity to benefit from. If you prefer a more vigorous work out, the Homestead Court Club offers squash, racquet ball, a swimming pool, a weight room and a variety of aerobic classes. If tennis is your specialty, you will love the program offered at the club. They feature both indoor and outdoor courts for year-round enjoyment by tennis enthusiasts!! As an owner you automatically become a member.

Open space can be found throughout the neighborhood. For instance, families can relax on a bench by a small pond and take in the scenery. The New York Range is visible through many living room windows, depending upon your location. You may also be able to capture the views of Singletree and Cordillera Valley Club.

Homestead can be considered to have three sections. The first is lower Homestead. Here you will find a mixture of homes and town homes. It is a great place for kids with the soccer fields and playground area. Dogs also have an area to romp around! For the families with young children, the elementary school is also here. People like this location due to the ease of walking to the restaurants, post office, banks and shopping. You may also hop on the bus that stops along Route 6, and travel with ease to Vail or the Eagle County Airport.

The second segment is middle Homestead. Here you will find the Court Club, the pond, and a variety of homes and condominiums/townhomes. Most of the townhomes are located in the center and homes on the outskirts of the Homestead. You can find homes built in the late 80’s and 90’s to brand new high-end single family homes in a subdivision call “Heritage Park”. There are plenty of options to choose from!

Lastly, is upper Homestead. Here you will find homes primarily built in the late 90’s and 2000’s. Most of the architecture is designed with upscale motif and mountain elegance in mind. Due to the elevated topography, this area boasts plenty of sunshine and gorgeous views!! The water tower is a short hike you can take or venture off trail towards Arrowhead. You certainly obtain a great overview of Edwards from this viewpoint.
