Edwards: A "Dream Town" in the Vail Valley
The transformation of Edwards is very exciting! From an old ranching area emerged a bedroom community in the '80s, where your main reference point was the “Gas House restaurant.” Then, in 2006, Edwards received acknowledgement of being one of the top 10 “dream towns” in the US. Yes, Edwards has come a long way!
Our area is brimming with history. It is interesting to note that “Edwards” was named after a Colorado State Senator back in the 1800s. In some areas you can still see sheep being herded early in the morning. One minute you are in a booming town and the next you hear the many sounds of the sheep. Only in Colorado!
Edwards has become a beautiful community along the Eagle River. In the earlier days, you had to go to Vail Village for dining options. Today, locals and visitors enjoy shopping and dining in the Riverwalk then take a break on a bench along the river. You may see kayakers or rafters float by!
Although everyone refers to Edwards as a “town,” it actually is an unincorporated community of Eagle County. Edwards consists of gorgeous neighborhoods including Arrowhead, Cordillera, Lake Creek, Singletree, and Homestead. Many locals and second homeowners are proud to call Edwards their home!
