Beaver Creek Resort

The year 2007 marked the 27th anniversary of Beaver Creek Resort. Once known as Vail's sister resort, "The Beav", has really come into its own . The acclaim is largely due to Beaver Creek's world class skiing, year-round mountain activities, cultural endeavors, deluxe dining, and accommodations to match. The ski mountain offers over 1,805 ski-able acres, has 19 chair lifts.

Beaver Creek has been positively recognized by the ski industry over the last several years and hosted the World Alpine Championships in 1999. The championships showcased Beaver Creek to the world and drew the largest number of spectators ever to attend a skiing event in the United States. With the world-famous Birds of Prey downhill course, for advanced skiers, as well as the open bowls and snow-boarder half pipe, there is something for every skill level at this family resort. There are over 900instructors, speakingmore than 30 different languages, for beginners and international guests.

If you can imagine making a world class resort even better, it happened with the inception of the Village-to-Village skiing concept. Now that Beaver Creek is connected via chairlift to Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead , visitors can enjoy even more skiing, dining, and other amenities. Many engaging activities have been added to the resort-sponsored summer and winter events.

One of the most unique activities is 'Thursday Night Lights' on Beaver Creek Mountain . After dark, skiers participate in a glow stick ski down set to music and a fireworks display. The public is invited to attend, although skiers must be a level five or above and children under thirteen must be accompanied by an adult. Also, the Beaver Creek Outdoor Activity Center has many warm weather family adventures to choose from. Another distinguishing feature located on Beaver Creek mountain is McCoy Park, a mountaintop cross-country ski and snowshoe park, with nearly 23 miles of back-country trails. In the center of Beaver Creek Village, visitors can enjoy over 75 clothing, sports and home-furnishings boutiques, jewelers, art galleries, and restaurants, plus the year-round outdoor Black Family Ice Rink. Another show of the extraordinary service and convenience of Beaver Creek are the heated escalators that connect the businesses in the Village and take skiers to the base of Centennial Lift.

With the opening of the 530-seat Vilar Center for the Arts, Beaver Creek is the first mountain resort in the world to offer its own performing arts facility. Vilar Center has taken the arts in the Vail Valley to a whole new level as they host world-class cultural events likened to those of Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. Another notable feature of Beaver Creek Resort is its golf course, Beaver Creek Golf Club. The 18-hole, par 70 , Robert Trent Jones II - designed golf course offers challenging play amidst the spectacular scenery of Beaver Creek. Many of the homes and condominiums have views to the course.
